Malik sees foreign hand in terror incidents in country

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik Thursday said foreign hand is involved in the terror incidents in various areas of the country including Peshawar.

Talking to media after offering a visit to the Lady Reading Hospital here to console the injured in blasts in the city, he urged the ulema (religious scholars) to side with the government and the military in jihad against terrorism. The federal minister said the terrorists faced ruination thanks to the alliance of Pak Army and the people.

On this occasion, he appealed to the people to remain united until terrorism is put to an end. He also lauded the sacrifices rendered by the NWFP police against terrorism, saying the police of the province would be equipped the modern weaponry and necessary security apparatus. The interior minister said the President Asif Ali Zardari, in his recent speech, offered the whole nation a message of peace and safety.

He also advised the politicians having eyes on mid-term elections, to go for national unity and solidarity and side with the government and Pak Army for the establishment of enduring peace. Malik ordered the illegal Afghan immigrants to immediately quit the city.
